Shared parenting plan

A shared parenting plan designates what aspects of the physical and legal care of the child the parties will be individually or mutually responsible and is designed so that the welfare and happiness of the child is of paramount importance with respect to the parties parental rights and responsibilities and is exercised in such manner as to promote the child’s welfare with reasonable regard for the interest of each party. Shared parenting does not necessarily mean each party sees the child 50% of the time but rather how parents will share in deciding and communicating regarding parenting issues pertaining to their child.
